My entry for the napkin challenge. Her name is Layla and she sometimes thinks life on a napkin is a little boring. So i promised to make her a cool new world she could explore. I think she likes it.

It is fun to draw on napkins, knowing that it is something ephemeral gives you freedom and spontaneity. I enjoyed doing it

Nature inspired Doodle to help me get through this lonnnnng winter. I liked that when I lifted up a layer of the napkin the lacy effect it had left underneath too.

"Butterflies and Roses"- I thought this would be a fun fusion of a challenge of drawing on a napkin and a draw this again challenge. This was from a larger illustration I did way back in 2010, it was so much fun to re-draw this design. And equally as fun to doodle on a napkin! I used a mechanical pencil, white acrylic ink and a gold ink pen. I hope this looks alright, it was a challenge to photograph. Thanks for looking at my little doodle!

Pen and ink on napkin. Sakura Gelly Roll Pens. It’s funny I never noticed the pattern on the napkins on my dining room table. The flowers were quite quaint and delicate. I decided to highlight the original flower pattern and let that inspire my pattern and mark-making. I love collaborating with the most unexpected of collaborators. I can see why so many great ideas are first sketched onto napkins, the no pressure canvas. I believe some of Jim Henson’s characters were first fleshed out on a napkin. Cheers to the napkin!

Actually drawn in situ while working at a fresh-biscuit kiosk. The biscuit-seller is repeatedly asked for directions, despite not being an information booth but a vendor of biscuits.

Napkins: Great for cleaning paintbrushes brushes and excellent canvases. Who'd a thunk it?

Here's one of my tentacular critters, draw on a 8″ X 8″ yellow napkin with a Pentel brush, two Tria felt pens and some white gouache.

This is a doodle on a silver serviette using black ink.

Music and food, that's keeps me going. While I was listening to MJ in a restaurant and having my breakfast, I had only this piece of napkin to draw something. I realized, that MJ song names will make so much sense with the food I love! Like "The way you make me feel", "Beat it", "Super bowl". It was just a though and doodled it on this napkin. Here I submit "MJ & food lyrical reality" through my doodle work.

Sometimes in most boring job, the most creative stuff are born.

No tenía algo en mente (concretamente), pero quería al menos un poco de color...

Doodling is a great way to learn, solve problems and share ideas. When drawing out ideas, it provides visual clarity to your own ideas and you can also get others to 'see' your ideas.

Where is the love? Love is rare nowadays, people becoming more and more selfish. I just want to deliver this message and create some awareness. Wake up. Spread Love. Repeat.

I doodle on napkins all the time! I doodled this one at our favorite restaurant bar: Leo's Pub & Grille in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania. Occasionally I'll leave the napkin folded on the table, but with a little Easter Egg around the edge, a little unexpected bonus for the person who finds it and likes it enough to explore.

I walk a lot of streets of downtown Toronto, taking pictures and sketching buildings. I thought this old church door was appealing enough for the napkin drawing challenge because of the detail in the old brickwork.

While I was waiting for a friend, I saw you... and here we meet again ! My first love: My Coffee... I have never had such a truthful relationship like I have with you ! And so there and then I decided to draw our amazing journey... and then waiting was not so bad, it was actually amazing !

This is a picture that I drew with someone with a bow and it says Smile at the top. The rainbow and all the color is to show happiness.

"This Side Up" - a small group of random thoughts and phrases that occurred to me while I was working on it. I don't even know which side is "up".

I chose to write "When in doubt, just doodle it out" on my napkin because it is a phrase that most successfully describes the way that I get unstuck while making work. And at the moment when I saw the contest I was working on a project and was a bit stuck!
