Whisp, day 2 of inktober. Done with my TWSB Eco fountain pen with an extra fine nib. I think I like this approach better than yesterday's. I like the fine cross-hatching.
Mig looks up and sees smoke coming from a distance.

I love drawing when I am waiting on someone. It transforms the time, and rather than feeling impatient often I am hoping they will take longer so I can finish the drawing.

I love drawing at the local boat harbour. I usually begin the drawing while I am there but later finish it in my studio.

I could have gone further, but I kind of lost interest in this one. Normally I would have put some texture indicating bricks and a bit more detail.

Poor little sapling that was in our drive. I pulled it and the roots were so beautiful that I had to draw them.

This was done on the spot with a fountain pen in my moleskine. During this time of Covid, Australia is a bit of a haven for some travellers. We have always had loads of oversea tourists. I imagine the couple who lived in this van had decided to wait it out. I was fortunate in that they were repacking while I was drawing, so I had a bit of time.

I sat on the ground at the boat harbour to draw this. I felt a bit self conscious as everyone started emerging from the boat as I was obviously drawing it. I thought it was empty! I have never drawn a boat before and don't know much about them. It was fascinating.

Nyx is the goddess before manifestation begins, the daughter of Chaos. She is the Eternal Darkness before there was light. Mother of numerous primordial powers such as Death, Sleep, the Fates, Nemesis and Old Age.

This is a drawing from my new Crone series, where I explore ancient archetypes of older women.

Pen and Tombow markers in my moleskine. This one is straight from the street, while sitting on a nearby park bench.

I had a lot of fun with this drawing. It later made me think of Arya in the Game of Thrones - though she never needed armour. Still, surely that little sword is Needle.

Trying out a drawn frame, like they often did in medieval times.
