Painted as my final project for my Painting Environments course. I was super nervous about tackling this one, but learned a ton taking this course. I'm happy to move on to the next one. :-)
Ironwood Forest

- Implied path
- River rambling through tree roots
- Waterfall
This is my first full landscape project that I painted for a skillshare course. It was frustrating at times but I really enjoyed working through the multiple steps of this painting. I wanted to see what I could do it I pushed myself and I am happy with the final painting. I need to focus some more study on trees in the future, I like how the foreground tree came out, the forest edge was much more difficult. Another version of lantern illustration.
I wanted to redraw the last illustration. But I changed the concept while drawing. It's a beauty of creativity - it can surprise.
The most important thing here is that I feel so happy when I draw illustrations in this style

One of our most popular artists is Juan Jose Sanchez. He has a unique and recognizable style that is very aesthetically pleasing. Sanchez’s artwork can brighten any room and truly make you feel like you just stepped into the forests of the island.
This is one of my first, and best pieces of digital art to-date. I created it using Procreate, inspired by my love of wolves, and Northern landscapes more generally.
This illustration tells me that I need to push myself forward. I was in my comfort zone while painting. And I didn't go out.
It's an important lesson for me. I'm glad I can analyze it and draw conclusions.
