This painting was made with gouache on cardboard 400 gr / m² with a height of 32 cm and a width of 24 cm.
Painting, drawing, crayoning, markering (I just made that word up)...it's always more fun when a child is involved, even when they purposefully color over a character. It adds character to the character, no?

I wanted to redraw the last illustration. But I changed the concept while drawing. It's a beauty of creativity - it can surprise.

A dragon I designed and sculpted, took many many hours to complete but super happy with the outcome. Sculpted using polymer clay, painted with acrylic gouache and coated with varnish.
Another commission done for my friend - her parent's house is nestled in a small suburb and surrounded by so many trees. This neighborhood has so many beautiful homes.
These illustrations are part of an ongoing series on anxiety I started in early April 2018, as part of #The100DayProject. A cartographic representation of the experience of moving to a new city in a foreign land. This work, dubbed as 'Introspectionism', provides the viewer with a snapshot over time of the inner workings of the process of the strange becoming slowly more familiar and the foreign becoming Home.
There's something so satisfying in painting things from around my apartment. (Trying out jelly gouache, it's pretty awesome!)

Mostly wet on wet technique and then wet on dry for the white paint. I used a Mont Marte Round 2 brush and Reeves watercolor paint tubes.
Also concocted my very own magic watercolor paint that made the black background somewhat similar to gouache.
I learned this painting from one of the best artists named Maria Raczynska.
