If a publishing company ever gets a license to make Nintendo comics, and if I am not involved in the Mario comic, then I would gladly take Kirby instead.
This was a bit of an experiment. I wanted a very graphic style without outlines but with lots of texture for that hand crafted look. I made it in Clip Studio Paint, mostly using my own custom brushes. At some point I will make my brushes available as a download for purchase.

This was part of a collaboration I did with another wonderful artist over on YouTube. We picked the theme of our favourite folklore characters to draw.
I started this with the Doodle Addicts Pre/post quarantine diptych drawing challenge in mind, but I didn't make the deadline (I started it on the day of the deadline, so it was a little ambitious!). The first half of the drawing represents before the corona virus and the second half is after the virus and kind of living with it. No pencil, just straight into the drawing with ink. It's rough, but I like how it turned out and there are some fun characters.
[Hades (the game) 2024] - This would be considered fanart if I was a fan but I have never played the game. I realize there is no Hades 3, this is just for pretend-fun. In my Blue Star sketchbook serious art has been interrupted by two cartoon characters I came up with years ago that I drew for my university student newspaper. They're back! Adolescent silliness returns with the adventures of Hardball and Riley. There's a bit of allegory at work in this story, so it's not as infantile as it first seems. They are certainly fun and my main characters are very easy to draw. I do sometimes spend too much time on the background.
