I am a freelance artist. My preferred medium is working with fibers using a variety of quilting, embroidery, and bead techniques. The landscapes and cultures of the American Southwest is a constant source of inspiration and nature is my muse. I also sketch in pen and ink, graphite, and colored pencil, and dabble in watercolor and pastel on occasion. While fiber art creations require studio time, the other mediums often travel with me on various sojourns into vast Southwestern landscapes. While art feeds my soul it isn't always enough to keep the lights on so a day job as a National Park Ranger serves that purpose and allows me to work in a most amazing landscape. In short, I have my cake and I eat it too.
